“ Schooner is an "old-time" bar: no frills (this is a compliment), good people, Everyone was there just to do what they do: get a drink, play pool, listen to music, hang with friends. It felt like a genuine neighborhood bar. It is a "come as you are" place. It was refreshing. If you want to hear and support local music in a not-uptight place, this is it. ”
“ Schooner Tavern is a nice little gem just off Lake St and Trouble Town. On this Sunday their were only a handful of customers doing their thing. The jukebox had a nice 70’s feel floating about. The place was clean. The bartender was great and handled each order he took with just enough conversation to give it a personal feel. Theirs a couple patios for smoking and darts and pool to let your mind relax if just for a little while. Pull tabs were also available for those who like to rip em. Their a nice little stage for bands and by the looks of that might be the biggest reason to be at the Schooner. I also overheard that it very well could be the oldest bar in Minneapolis of which I don’t know. Enjoy! ”

“ This is my favorite place for music. The sound is always excellent regardless of who is performing. They have live music almost nightly. No cover charge and very reasonable drink prices. ”
“ Typical neighborhood bar... live bands, pull tabs, pool, strong drinks and almost always busy. Could use more parking but still recommend if you're not into the downtown scene and just looking to have a drink ”
“ Great place for a drink. Excellent service but don't have a kitchen so pizza is the only option... Oh and chips ”
